Here are some things you should know about this site.

I’m not a professional gamer or reviewer, and I do have a job so while I play a lot of games, I can’t play all day. So what this means is, I won’t be getting games early, as I will be buying them retail or rental, and I won’t finish every game I play. I have no intention of writing a review for a game I haven’t finished, all reviews will be kept in the “Review” category on the site. I will however still be writing my impressions about games I’ve been playing good or bad, however, any opinions I have about a game that I haven’t finished will be logged as “Mid-Game Impressions”, games may fall into this category because they are simply too bad to finish, I have found another game that has taken my interest for now and I’ll likely return later to finish up but I want to get my opinions out there before the information gets stale, or because the game is long and I don’t want my opinions to be so far out from release that it is mostly irrelevant. My thoughts on a game before I’ve played it, or more or less my reaction to the media, or a demo, will be “Pre-Release Impressions”.

I don’t believe in review scores, particularly ones that break out into presentation, sound, game play, etc…  The idea that an awesome sound score could inflate a score for a game that is otherwise lackluster doesn’t make sense. The 1-5 scale works better in my opinion because it isn’t really victim of the same inflation, but it’s still not really appropriate. It also bugs me that games that get anything less than 8,80 or 3, in any rating scale generally aren’t worth the money you’d need to spend… if you’re going to give these scores, they might as well be 1s in my opinion. So what I will offer is honesty in my reviews, since I clearly won’t be meeting any of these people, and I am most certainly not on their payrolls. Along with facts about my experience with the game, as well as my opinion on those facts. You can expect a “you should play this if…” in most reviews, and maybe a “if you were this…” type of statement in the review summary.
